What a Crypto Wallet and Address Are
A crypto wallet stores the keys that control your coins; an address is the string you share so others can send to you. Here's how both work and what to keep private.

A crypto wallet is software that stores the keys to your coins. Your wallet address is a string of letters and numbers you give to other people so they can send you cryptocurrency. It works roughly like a bank account number.
Where do the coins actually live?
In the blockchain. A wallet doesn't hold coins directly. It holds the private keys that give you the right to move them. Lose the keys and you lose access to the coins. A wallet is access, not storage.
Is your wallet address safe to share?
Yes. The address is public. Share it freely, post it, give it to anyone sending you funds. What stays secret is the private key or seed phrase (12 to 24 words). Whoever has the private key controls the coins. Never share it with anyone, under any circumstances.
Why does each network have a different address format?
Ethereum addresses look different from Tron addresses, which look different from Solana addresses. Send coins to an address on the wrong network and they're gone. Always check: the address format should match the selected network.
Hot wallet vs. cold wallet
A hot wallet is connected to the internet: convenient, slightly more exposed. A cold wallet stores keys offline: more secure, but more expensive and a bit less convenient day to day. For small amounts and frequent use, a hot wallet is usually fine. For larger holdings, a cold wallet is the standard advice.
