Exchanges are "carried out via a third-party service". A user who refuses the KYC/AML procedure gets their deposit back "subtracting the network fee and ChangeHero operational fee in amount of 10% from transferred assets but not less than 100 USD equivalent". And a refund request is only accepted "within one (1) calendar month". When ChangeHero is the better choice
- You want to buy crypto with a card. They run a fiat on-ramp and we do not: we are crypto-to-crypto only, so if your money starts in a bank account we are not the answer.
- You want an asset we do not list. Their catalogue is far wider than ours, and a swap you can actually do beats a better policy on a pair nobody offers.
- You are in the United States, Canada, Japan or the United Kingdom. Our terms exclude those places and theirs do not.
- You would rather deal with a name that has been visible for years. That is a real thing to want, and we are younger.
When SwapSS is the better choice
- You do not want the option of being asked for documents to exist. We collect none, so refusing costs nothing, because there is nothing to refuse.
- You want a refund path without a percentage attached to it. Ours takes the network fee and nothing else.
- You are swapping a small amount. Their refund floor of 100 USD equivalent is larger than many of our minimums, so the downside of a flag is bigger than the swap.
- You want the fixed rate to be fixed. Ours has no two per cent band behind it.

Does ChangeHero require KYC?
- Not by default, and their terms reserve it: they require consent to "pass through AML/KYC procedures" and reserve the right to request documents identifying the user and proving the source of funds. What matters is the price of declining.
